Recover Deleted Partitions – Restore Windows OS Partitions

The need to recover deleted partitions differs than most data recovery situations in that the entire section of a hard drive that we have labeled as a drive section must be recovered. Normally file recovery is limited to a file or a hundred files even. But when a computer partition has gone missing it requires the retrieval of tens of thousands of files. For this there are two techniques. One is to use a powerful data recovery program to open the hard drive and scan its contents for the contents of the deleted partition area.

The other option is to use a copy program to clone the entire hard drive to a new location. Because a deleted partition usually means that your PC will not start, this latter technique available will make it very easy to recovery deleted partitions. With the proper data recovery and copying tools you can easily recover deleted partitions in XP or in Vista. The only difference being that when you recover deleted partitions in Vista you will likely be copying out a much larger drive.
